You will use your expertise to:
  • Ensure the safe operation of the pipeline and terminal including addressing and reporting hazardous situations, and that we’re in compliance with our safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure reliable and efficient operation of the facilities by regularly and carefully monitoring equipment conditions and quickly addressing any deviations with a safety first continuous improvement mindset
  • Manage the movement of petroleum products by tank receipts via pipeline and trucks, transferring product from tank to tank, and draining and preparing equipment for maintenance
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment including pumps, valves, metering equipment, tankage, piping systems and instrumentation
  • Perform general facility housekeeping, including snow removal, general administration and record-keeping
  • Conduct sampling and testing to ensure product quality
  • Oversee the work of on-site contractors for safety, quality of work and productivity and issue work permits in accordance with company standards
  • Provide orientation and support to carriers to ensure the safe and reliable loading and unloading of refined products to and/or from carrier’s trucks
  • Maintain and exchange a detailed account of the day’s activities and actions taken to mitigate risks and to ensure optimal shift transitions
  • Act as a member of the emergency response team (ERT) and actively participate in emergency situations (fire/medical/spill) when required

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and handle the operation of our terminal systems and performing equipment maintenance
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to build strong positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills
  • The ability to function effectively as part of a team or when working alone, including a strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing
Preference for:
  • Petroleum Terminal, Tank Farm, and Pipeline Operations experience and knowledge
  • An Instrumentation, Mechanical or other trade ticket
  • Experience with automated computer control systems such as Allen Bradly PLC, Rockwell HMI & Toptech Load rack system
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:
  • You will work out of our terminal office located at 2230 11th St. W, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • Our normal work day is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. The shift schedule is currently on a four week rotation. Every fourth week you will be responsible for a “Pipeline Shift” which requires weekend hours (8:00 am -12:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday)
  • While on our “Pipeline Shift”, you are required to be on-call 24/7 for support during non-scheduled hours for this seven day period, once per month
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • This position is eligible for overtime
  • Our expectation is that you live within a 50 km radius of our Saskatoon facility
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces and heights
