Why you should join us:
Using your maintenance background, you will be responsible for leading site contracts and contractors at Fort Hills while ensuring compliance to scopes of work and the safe, efficient, and cost effective delivery of contractor services.
You will use your expertise to:
  • Handle contracts and sustain professional relationships with contractors to ensure safety, cost, service, and quality requirements are met
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and planning teams to prioritize, schedule, and resource work
  • Ensure contractors are on-boarded and off-boarded efficiently to meet safety requirements and process effectiveness
  • Monitor contractor performance by developing technical key performance indicators (KPIs) and driving performance against these KPIs by implementing corrective actions and programs as necessary
  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld and that contractors are adhering to all of our relevant policies and standards
  • Ensure contractors stay within the contract’s statement of work parameters to address scope creep and ensure scope changes are incorporated into the contract before new work commences
  • Provide input into the business plan to reliably meet or exceed performance expectations in safety, environment, cost, and productivity

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • Five years of supervisory or coordination experience in an industrial maintenance setting
  • Experience with establishing contractor strategies and programs based on risk evaluation and risk management
  • Industrial scaffold/insulation experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • A valid Scaffolding or Insulation Certification

Preference for:
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; SAP knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent project management skills to handle conflicting priorities and deliver on aggressive timelines
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
  • Collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions in a dynamic work environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace


Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:
  • You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 off rotation
