Reporting to site supervision, the role of General Labourer will be expected to start August 19, working 12 hours per shift, with both days and nights. This position will perform physically demanding general labour duties, assisting trades people at our client’s facility located at Joffre, AB. Candidates must live within an 80 km radius of Joffre, Only local candidates will be considered at this time.

Position Requirements

  • High commitment to safety – his / her, own and others
  • Must have good mechanical skills
  • Must be self- motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain relations with customer and co-workers through effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good housekeeping skills
  • Must be receptive to working with short notice for call outs and overtime as per request
  • Capable of working closely with the Customer representative
  • Must possess a valid Alberta driver’s license
  • Must be physically fit (i.e. position requires lifting / standing and climbing)
  • Willing / able to take additional training as required
  • Previous experience working with Joffre Site Safety Procedures and Maintenance Safe Work Requirements is considered an asset

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and participate in pre-job toolbox meetings and Pre-Task Analysis to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Correct unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of immediate supervisor
  • Receive permits for required tasks (i.e. pending qualification as a permit receiver)
  • Review Safe Work Procedures associated with the job prior to task execution
  • Carry out work in a manner that will not jeopardize own/others safety
  • Perform work without damage to tools or equipment
  • Identify changes to workflow or problems associated with task execution and report to Quinn supervision
  • Return all tools (clean) back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks
  • Maintain positive relations with customer and co-workers through effective interpersonal and communication skills
