DESCRIPTION

The primary duties of a Motorhand is to ensure that all equipment is operating and functioning properly. Responsibilities include regular maintenance of the equipment specifically related to the engines that power the drilling rig. Safety is the first priority for all drilling rig personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regularly maintain drilling rig engines, transmissions, heating systems, diesel electric generators and motors, hydraulic systems and other mechanical equipment
  • Monitor inventories for fuel, oil filters, lube oils, greases and other service items
  • Maintain equipment logs and preventative maintenance records as required
  • Operate and maintain the engines that run the draw works, turn rotary table and circulate drilling fluid
  • Ensure usage of proper safety equipment
  • Learn and adhere to the Company’s Safety Program and government safety regulations
  • Support and promote to all employees the Company’s Policies, Procedures and Safety Programs
  • Ensure safety and support equipment is functioning properly
  • Set an example to fellow employees by adhering to all safe work practices and policies. Train new crew members to do the same.
  • Ensure usage of proper safety equipment
  • Ability to comply with company guidelines and work in a safe manner

Education and Experience

  • Rig Technician Level 1 (Registered and/or progressing in Rig Tech Apprenticeship Program)

Job Requirements

MUST Possess Valid/Current

  • Rig Technician Level 1 (Registered Rig Tech Apprentice)
  • Enform H2S Alive Certification
  • Enform Fall Protection for Rig Work Certification
  • Enform Rig Rescue Certification
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Registered and participating in Rig Technician Apprenticeship program
  • EGSO

Special Conditions of Employment

  • MUST be 18 years of age
  • Require valid driver licence and vehicle
  • Responsible for own transportation to and from worksite each day
  • Ability to financially sustain lodging/meals in non-camp situations
  • Must be able to complete and successfully pass a Pre-Employment Physical and Drug Test ( This will be arranged by CWC Ironhand Drilling)
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions such as rain, heat/cold, and exposure to loud noises
  • Ability to work in fast paced/repetitious environment
